Home & Building Owners
Have you heard the horror stories people tell about their experiences with General Contractors and Remodeling Companies?
- Work taking months longer to complete than planned
- Unreasonable cost overruns over the original proposal
- Shoddy craftsmanship
- Unfinished work
- Filthy environments
- Lost deposits
The #1 documented consumer complaint is about residential General Contractors and Remodelers.
Are you frustrated with the barrage of Contractors calling you when you fill out one of those online forms to get “Free Estimates” for your remodeling project from “Approved Professionals” or “Qualified Contractors”?
Are you still not sure which contractor to choose once you’ve gotten proposals and bids?
Are you concerned about paying a deposit and then not having any reassurance besides the Contractor’s word that your project will get done, get done right, and get done in a timely manner – and, that your investment will be protected?
Are you getting ready to start a remodeling project of your own? Not sure who to hire? Want to avoid the horror stories? If you can answer yes to any of these questions then you’ve come to the right website.
Prescreened and Certified Member Remodelers
Contracting Trust is the only company in the country that guaranties the work of our Certified Member Remodelers. With Contracting Trust, you don’t have to hope for a good outcome, you are guaranteed a good outcome.
Here’s how:
-
We prescreen and prequalify our member Contractors and Remodeling companies. We ask questions like:
- How long has the Contractor been performing home improvement and remodeling services under its current name?
- List all the principles owning 10% or more of the company with their social security numbers and approval to check credit ratings of the company and principals
- Has the company or principals filed for bankruptcy within the past 5 years
- Has the Contractor ever had insurance claims placed against their work
- Does the Contractor have General Liability Insurance? Is it active? Can proof be provided including the name and contact information of the Insurance Company.
- What is the average number of remodeling projects completed in a year?
- What is the average contract amount per year?
- Is the Contractor a member of the Better Business Bureau? For How Long? What is their current rating? Do they have any unresolved complaints?
- Will the Contractor provide 3 current (within the past year) client references
Contracting Trust Guaranty
Our Member Contractors, our Guaranteed Remodelers are required to include the Contracting Trust guaranty on every project they contract. And, when you request a Contractor referral, we send you only a pre-screened, pre-qualified, and fully insured Contrtactor.
Just because a contractor is licensed, bonded and insured doesn’t mean they are guaranteed to perform on their contract. Bonds only protect the municipality where the work is being performed. Liability insurance is for protection against accidents or damages that may occur. General Contractor licenses can be acquired in many states and municipalities for little more than the payment of a fee – no exam and no certification process – that is why your worst nightmare is out there looking for your project: Chuck-with-a-Truck! And with the economy the way it is now, with building and construction at a virtual standstill, every out-of-work construction worker is now Chuck-with-a-Truck, and you are at risk.
If you choose one of our “Approved Professionals” they actually have been! Not every Contractor can qualify to become a member of Contracting Trust’s Guaranteed Remodelers’ program.
If you choose one of our “Qualified Contractors”, they are not only qualified to do your remodeling project, but they are also guaranteed by Contracting Trust to:
- Finish within a reasonable amount of time
- Finish on budget (not including any change orders)
- Use the appropriate materials for the job
- Construct a quality product
